Terms and Conditions

1. Promoter

The promoter is UCB Guild of Students (“we”, “us” or “the Guild”).

2. Prize Draw

The Freshers Wristband Refund Prize Draw gives one eligible entrant the chance to receive:

  1. A refund of the price they paid for their Freshers 2026 Wristband only; and
  2. One standard Freshers 2026 Wristband for one nominated eligible friend.

3. Entry Period

The prize draw opens when it is announced and closes at 23:59 on Monday 31 August 2026 (“the Closing Date”).

4. Eligibility

Entry is open only to students who:

  • Are currently enrolled at University College Birmingham;
  • Are aged 18 or over on the date of purchase;
  • Purchase a Freshers 2026 Wristband via the UCB Guild Online Shop by Monday 31 August 2026; and
  • Meet any applicable eligibility requirements for the Freshers Wristband and its events.

Freshers Wristbands are sold through the Guild Shop (ucbguild.co.uk/freshers-2026).

5. How to Enter

Eligible students are entered automatically when they complete a qualifying Freshers 2026 Wristband purchase through the Guild Online Shop before the Closing Date. No separate form or action is required.

Only one entry per eligible student will be included in the draw. Orders cancelled, refunded, fraudulent, incomplete or not successfully paid by the Closing Date will not qualify.

6. The Prize

There is one prize winner. The prize consists of:

  • A refund equal to the amount actually paid for the winner’s Freshers 2026 Wristband only, excluding any merchandise, clothing, bundles, upgrades, delivery charges, booking fees and any other items; and
  • One standard Freshers 2026 Wristband for a friend nominated by the winner.

The refund will be made to the original payment method where possible. The winner’s own wristband will remain valid after the refund.

The second wristband is for a nominated UCB student who is aged 18 or over and passes our eligibility checks. It does not include merchandise, upgrades, additional items or cash.

7. Winner Selection and Notification

We will select the winner at random from all eligible entries on or before Wednesday 2 September 2026.

We will notify the winner by email, using the email address provided with their qualifying Guild Shop order, by Friday 4 September 2026. We will process the wristband refund without requiring the winner to respond.

8. Friend Nomination

The winner must nominate their friend for the second wristband by 23:59 on Monday 7 September 2026. The nominee must be a current UCB student aged 18 or over and may be asked to provide evidence of eligibility.

If the winner does not nominate an eligible friend by this deadline, the second wristband element of the prize will be forfeited. No cash alternative or replacement prize will be offered.

9. General

  • The prize is non-transferable, except that the winner may nominate one eligible friend for the second wristband.
  • No cash alternative is available, other than the stated refund of the winner’s own wristband purchase price.
  • We may withhold or withdraw the prize where we reasonably believe an entrant has breached these terms, supplied false information or acted fraudulently.
  • We may amend, suspend or cancel the prize draw where necessary due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
  • We will process entrant information only to administer this prize draw, verify eligibility, contact the winner and arrange the prize.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
