Freshers 2024 Events Calendar

Welcome to UCB, Freshers! This year, we have a very special line-up of events planned for you to find your people and get involved. We have an awesome range of events for everyone – most of them are free, and you can just show up and get going! Because of room sizes and available materials, a lot of these are first come, first serve, so make sure you arrive early.

Additionally, we have our exclusive events for Freshers Wristband Holders, an unforgettable week chock-full of the best Birmingham has to offer. We have limited numbers available, so get yours now before they sell out!

Scrapbooking

Pub Quiz

We’re bringing back our Pub Quiz at the bar in The Hideaway. Pay £1pp to get involved as you come in – the winning team gets the pot!

Flat Decorating Competition

Welcome Fest Scavenger Hunt

Team up, follow the clues, and go all the way to the end of our Welcome Fest Scavenger Hunt! All teams who complete the hunt will receive a prize.

Freshers Glow Party

Celebrate a glowing end to our Freshers Fair at O’Neill’s with neon face paint, glowsticks, and student price drinks! Tickets available here. Wristband holders can just show up and be let in for free 🙂

As exciting as Freshers Week is, it’s also a lot. Join us for a relaxing, peaceful sound bath with an experienced sound therapist and completely let go for an hour of recuperation. Limited spaces available, it will be first come, first serve!

IKEA Trip

Get your ticket now!

In need of some decoration for your room, some pots and pans, or a cosy blanket? We’ll have a coach take you straight to IKEA, where you’ll be greeted with a goodie bag – and you’ll have a couple of hours to roam around the store and get all the things you need!
The coach leaves at the Maltings at 1pm sharp, so make sure you’re not late.

If you bought the Bouldering upgrade, this event is yours! Join us for a free hot drink at 7pm, then strap on your bouldering shoes and up the wall you go! Shoe hire is included, as the introduction by Depot’s experienced coaches.

Cadbury World

Cadbury World is one of these unmissable places in Birmingham. Join us for a visit and indulge in some delicious chocolate, while learning more about the history of Birmingham and Cadbury! Transport is not included. Our entry is at 1pm sharp. Make sure you arrive in plenty of time, if you’re late, we may not be able to grant you access.
