Student Roles Available
Student Trustee (4 roles available; unpaid)
As an independent charity, the Guild is managed by a Board of Trustees who make sure we deliver on our mission to help students leave UCB at their personal best. We’re looking for a student from each School at UCB to join the Board and, optionally, its Finance or HR Subcommittees to help inform our decision-making.
This role is voluntary and unpaid, but you will receive exclusive professional development opportunities through training/support in the role and from the experience of overseeing the work of a £300,000 annual turnover organisation.

Appointed (External) Trustee
We are looking for someone with substantial marketing and communications experience to help develop our PR strategy and profile with members, the University and wider community.
Are you passionate about helping people make the most of their time in education? University College Birmingham Guild of Students is seeking a trustee to join our Board and help us on our exciting growth journey. As a small but dedicated team with a strong strategic plan and the ambition to expand our impact, we’re especially seeking an individual with public relations experience that can help us broaden our engagement and spotlight our impact.
We ask candidates to note the following key dates:
- Applications close: 11th November, 16:00
- Interviews: week commencing 18th November (to be confirmed)
- If appointed, your first Board meeting will be Tuesday 10th December (all day)
The role of a trustee is voluntary and unpaid, but reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed by the Guild.
